The cross compiler is GCC, and clangd handle it well enough. I use a .clangd file to have it ignore some very specialized target options that clang doesn't understand. It's as simple as putting in the repo top a .clangd file with: CompileFlags: Remove: -f* And that was enough to have the usual support in my case.
